Instructions:

1

Prepare and marinate beef

  • Beef washed with dilute salt water, cut into bite-sized squares.

  • Marinate beef with spices in proportion: 1 teaspoon seasoning, ½ teaspoon black ground pepper, 1 teaspoon oyster sauce, ⅓ teaspoon sugar, ½ teaspoon five-spice powder, 2 teaspoons of red wine within 30 minutes (if you have time, you can marinate beef in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours).

2

Prepare vegetables

  • Tomato, onion cleaned, cut areca.

  • Green onions, coriander are washed and finely chopped.

  • Peeled garlic, minced.

  • Add star anise, cinnamon to the frying pan first until fragrant.

3

Cook wine sauce

  • Put the pot on the stove, add 2 teaspoons of cooking oil and 2 teaspoons of red annatto powder, cook until the dough turns red.

  • Add the minced garlic and saute until fragrant, then add the tomatoes and onions and stir until the tomatoes are soft and the onions are fragrant, then add the marinated beef and stir-fry. Stir well until the beef is cooked.

  • When the beef has been cooked, add about 2 liters of water to boil, skim off the foam to make the broth clearer. Next, add bay leaves, star anise, cinnamon, and simmer on low heat. Add a little seasoning to taste.

  • Continue to cook for about 1.5-2 hours until the beef is tender, the wine sauce thickens, then season to taste.

4

Finish the dish

  • Blanch Pho for about 1 minute in a pot of boiling water, then place in a bowl.

  • Arrange a few pieces of beef, some green onion, coriander leaves, and pour over the sauce to complete.
