  • Beef tail: 1kg

  • Lemongrass: 4 plants

  • Jujube: 10g

  • Goji berries: 10g

  • Star Anise: 5g

  • Cinnamon: 5g

  • Purple onion: 3 pieces

  • Ginger: 1 piece

  • White radish: 1 bulb

  • Salt, rock sugar, monosodium glutamate, black soy sauce

Prepare and marinate the beef tail

  • Buy the oxtails, wash them, heat them on the stove, then scrape off the hairs on the tails, then wash them with saltwater. Eliminate the smell of oxtail by washing with white wine, rubbing crushed ginger, and finally, rinsing it thoroughly under running water.

  • Marinate the oxtail with 2 teaspoons of pork seasoning powder, ½ teaspoon of MSG, 1 teaspoon of sugar, ⅔ teaspoon of salt. Stir well to let the beef infuse the spices for about 15 minutes.

Prepare other ingredients

  • Lemongrass cleaned, smashed, cut into pieces, the rest chopped.

  • Red onion, garlic peeled, minced.

  • Peel the onion, cut it into wedges.

  • Crushed ginger, cut into small pieces.

  • White radish peeled, washed, cut into pieces.

 

Stir-fry beef tail

  • Heat a pan on the stove, add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil, add ginger, onion, garlic, and lemongrass to the pan.

  • Then, add the seasoned oxtail with cinnamon and star anise, and stir-fry to hunt again.

Stew the oxtail

  • When the beef has been hunted, put about 2 liters of water and white radish in the stew for about 40 minutes.

  • When the water boils, reduce the heat to low and skim off the foam to make the broth clearer.

Make seasoning for the broth

  • Put 1 teaspoon of seasoning, ⅓ teaspoon of MSG, ½ teaspoon of salt, 2 teaspoons of rock sugar, ⅕ teaspoon of black soy sauce in a bowl and mix well.

Cook oxtail hot pot

  • After the oxtail has been stewed for about 40 minutes, put the jujubes, goji berries, and the spice mixture in the pot, stir well and bring to a boil.

  • When the water boils, season to taste, then add white radish, onion, and stir well. Let the water boil for a while and then turn off the heat.

Present and enjoy

  • Put the hot pot on the electric stove. Prepare vegetables and side dishes such as beef, fried fish balls, tofu, noodles.
