This sauce uses Norfolk-grown mint leaves because the founders of Colman loved local flavors. Mint leaves, after finely chopped, soaked in vinegar. Thanks to this traditional recipe, mint sauce is filled with natural, fresh flavors. When using mint sauce, the intense aroma, slightly spicy taste, and refreshing coolness of mint combined with the mildly sour taste of vinegar with a bit of sweetness of sugar is the best way to de-fat the meat, especially lamb. All combined to bring the classic British standard roast lamb. Besides the traditional combination of lamb and BBQ, Colman's Mint Sauce also appears in many recipes. When combined with yogurt, the finished product is the classic Indian Mint Raita, served with peas, or you can also mix Colman mint sauce with chopped onions, tomatoes, and peppers to make Mexican Salsa.
